Psychologist Carl Jung introduced mandalas into Western thought as being archetypal forms representing Self (your total personality). Art Therapist Joan Kellogg later used Dr. Jung's ideas to develop "The Great Round of Mandala", twelve prototypical mandala forms, each of which represents a stage in a continuous, cyclical pattern of personal growth. In this class, we will learn about Dr. Jung's theories and use of mandalas, then do a "Dance of the Great Round" to understand how working with mandalas can help us to lead more balanced lives.
